Something alot of pple don't know about Japanese culture is, they have a very sad and depressed mind set that is not, totally widespread, but is very present in their culture. They do have very high imaginations and fantasy elements that show in their creativity, but alot of that comes from helping to escape the demands and societal expectations they try to achieve that is very stressful. I personally feel that's why their animated movies have such deep themes and are able to touch pple and make us think more and cry outside of the standard deep dramatic live action movies. I know alot of anime fans would agree 👍👍

These are bang on. I'm Taurus and I love Wes Anderson of course. 💕 Royal Tenebaums is good but my favourite is probably Moonrise Kingdom or Grand Budaoest (they are 2010s though). For Taurus, I would also recommend Marie Antoinette (Sofia Coppola being another Taurus). My friend is Sag and obsessed with The Holiday and watches every Christmas. 🤣 I would also recommend Amelie for pisces which is a French film.

Have you talked about True Romance on your channel? It's quite the opposite of something like Before Sunrise and Lost in Translation in the sense that a lot of stuff out of the ordinary does happen in it, it's not understate in the slightest, but it shares the commonality that it's also a story of romance that feels genuine yet rooted in some magical realism that elevates it above all the thousands of other love stories in cinema. The amazing all star cast and acting performances certainly helps. PS: great topic, I've been looking for lowkey movies centered on vibes like the Before trilogy, or something that would be like Mulholland Drive when comes to having a dream-like quality

I saw Miyazaki in the uncle character - the world being the ghibli movies and his legacy - how he tried to pass it on, but the person who he wanted to take it on, wants to live in his own world instead. And the uncle accepts that. And with the uncle’s end, the world also is closed. So to me, that meant that ghibli is his own world/creation, and other people will walk their own lives instead of trying to continue his own worlds, but the movies will keep existing. Like Miyazaki is accepting that the world that he created is only his own, where before he wanted to give it to his son. In that way, I think it shows Miyazaki’s personal growth and love for his family. Also, I think that this movie was largely a personal story told in metaphors and through a story. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I understand it. I bet when I rewatch it, I will pick up on more things too.
